ABOUT SHELLEY HOEFFER
Shelley started playing pots and pans around 5 years old, graduating to a real drum set at age 11, honing her skills by playing along with records in her parents’ garage.
While taking private lessons, she played timbales in the Live Oak High School Marching Band which took the national championship and then moved on to play the Rosebowl Parade, all in her freshman year. She also learned to play the piano and guitar, “just well enough to write my own songs”
In her twenties, she played in a favorite Bay Area all-female band, Lady, sharing the stage with such artists as Bonnie Hayes and Lydia Pense & Coldblood. She played in several other local bands – including Ice Walk, Fallen Angel, the Christine Amber Band, and Rock ‘n Roll Rodeo before forming the band throwing roses with Joe Lococo. She also plays in a duo the Sugar Cookies with former Lady bandmate, Deb Thacker. She plays both covers and originals as well as occasionally backing such talented bands as Kimrea & the Dreamdogs and Blue House. When not playing music, Shelley loves sculpting with polymer clay.
