The legendary Afrofuturism ensemble led by 99-year old saxophonist Marshall Allen captures the enduring spirit of Sun Ra, taking audiences on an interstellar trip through the cosmos with two different programs over four nights. For the first two concerts of their residency, the band focuses on the more experimental spacey sound from Sun Ra's songbook. For the last two nights, the band performs Sun Ra's music associated with the big band swing tradition. The band will be performing a completely different set each night!
