Summertime Print & SIp Workshop with YAX Artist Alyssa Aviles

Celebrate summer with our first in-person Print & Sip workshop, hosted by Youth Art Exchange printmaker Alyssa Aviles and Harmonic Brewing. Create your own block print to make prints and cards with your very own design, while enjoying some delicious locally brewed beers!

Alyssa Aviles is a YAX faculty artist, San Francisco native and founder of Suavecita Press--a women's printmaking collective based in San Francisco, where women are invited to learn and collaborate as printmakers. Learn more at https://www.suavecitapress.com

Youth Art Exchange would like to thank Harmonic Brewing for hosting this workshop at their beautiful location at the Chase Center. You can order drinks during the workshop, or even enjoy a meal before or after the workshop!

Who: All ages--this is a family-friendly event and location!

What's included: [x] Print kit* and Artmaking Instruction. Please note that food and beverages are not included in the ticket price.

- 4"×6" Speedy-Carve block

- Linoleum cutter handle

- #1, #2, and #5 linoleum cutters

- Tube of 2 Colors of Water-Soluble Block Printing Ink

- 4" Soft Rubber Pop-In Brayer

- Printmaking cards

- Transfer paper

- Tracing paper

- YAX 'How To' Video - find the link on the card in your kit!

The [x] Print Kit gives you endless creative possibilities, even after the Print & Sip workshop! With this block print set, you can:

- Make a card for a friend or relative

- Design an expressive poster to put in your window or on your wall

- Create a custom Dish Towel-set

- Design print art on your t-shirts

Price: $50 per person for admission into Print & Sip workshop and print kit led by Alyssa Aviles. 2 for $90

This event supports Youth Art Exchange's [x]space arts hub. [x]space is an interactive art making and exhibition space accessible to youth and community members of all ages. The "x" in [x]space is related to exchange, experimentation, Excelsior, and x as a variable. Visit us at the heart of the Excelsior at 5137 Mission Street, at Mission & Geneva.

Transformed from a meat market (Chuck's Market) that was shuttered for nearly a decade, this space is focused on creative exchange between artists and community. It is an active arts center by Youth Art Exchange with free classes and programming for San Francisco public high school students, workshops, a youth printshop, an art gallery, community meeting space, and venue rentals.
