What does Superman think about climate change? Why is Robin Hood laughing at the sight of a paper cup? In this improv format based on the postdramatic work of Heiner Müller, we will make theater pieces exploring current events and political topics with pop culture icons and characters. Utilizing free association, monologues, snapshots and vignettes, this improv format creates dreamlike sequences which create an experience over the course of a night, exploring a topic that is on all of our minds.
German dramatist and director Heiner Müller is best known for “Hamlet Machine” and “The Mission". His mighty texts and productions, in which he confronted individuals and cold-war societies, have influenced European theatre since the 1960s and are still relevant today. We'll use his style and techniques to look at and respond to topics that affect us all today.

BATS Improv Class Refund Policy:
Summer Youth and Adult Sessions cancellation policy:

If you cancel more than 14 days (2 weeks) before your first class, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee.
If you cancel within 14 days (2 weeks) of your first class, your tuition will be forfeit.

Why so far in advance for summer? These classes are the most dramatically affected by last-minute vacations and changing plans, and we need to ensure that they can successfully run for all students who have enrolled!
Regular Class cancellation policy:

If you cancel more than 96 hours (4 days) before a class begins, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee.
If you cancel within 96 hours (4 days) of your first class, your tuition will be forfeit.

All cancellation and refund requests must be emailed to [email protected], and include the title and start date of your class.
In the event that we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, we’ll refund your tuition in full.
Please note: In the past, we have offered class credit in lieu of refunds. We are no longer able to offer this option. Each class tuition payment will stand on its own, and is non-transferable.
