Marin Art and Garden Center is pleased to present Makuru on July 10, the first concert in their beloved Summer Concert Series that runs every Thursday from July 10 - August 28.
Makuru is created by Peter Warren and features Ousseynou Kouyate, renowned African singer and dancer from the National Ballet of Senegal. He also toured with Senegalese superstar Youssou N'Dour, who famously sang on Peter Gabriel's song, "In Your Eyes".
Makuru features top Bay Area world musicians on bass, guitar, drum set and traditional African instruments.
New this year, local favorites and husband-and-wife team Fox Pizza are bringing naturally leavened sourdough pizza to the Summer Concerts on the Lawn! No need to pre-order these beauties, your pie will be baked right on site, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Bring your picnic, refillable water bottle, blanket, low-backed lawn chairs (we provide folding chairs), family, and friends. Beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase! Outside alcohol will not be permitted.
