Studio-Bongiorno presents an eveing with Richie Unterberger

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Studio-Bongiorno (see times)
On Saturday, November 23 from 7:30pm-9:30pm, Richie Unterberger will discuss his book "White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day-By-Day." The presentation will feature rare audiovisual material from throughout the Velvet Underground's career, and signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Led by singer and songwriter Lou Reed, and managed in their early years by Andy Warhol, the Velvet Underground were one of the most groundbreaking rock groups of all time. Their lyrics had a sensual realism previously unheard in popular music, and their music blended raw rock energy with daring avant-garde experimentation. MOJO magazine hailed the "White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day-By-Day" as "an impressive means to reflect on the conundrum of what could be the ultimate cult band...detailed and anecdote-packed," and it was selected by Uncut magazine as one of the five best music books of 2009.
$5 suggested donation
