The STUDIO 8 Film Festival is a 3-day event organized by SF Artists Alumni to showcase the work of filmmakers who honed their craft while students at the legendary (and now-closed) San Francisco Art Institute.
On Sunday afternoon June 16, 1-3 pm, Roxie Theater will host a selection of George and Mike Kuchar's lush, ecstatic and delirious films from their time at the Art Institute curated by Marian Wallace. Mike Kuchar will introduce the films and will be interviewed on stage by RE/Search founder and underground icon, V. Vale. George and Mike's films, spanning the decades, will include: Bloodsucker, I, an Actress, Happy Birthday! and Asphalt Ribbon--Plus more surprises!
A closing reception will follow, 3-6 PM around the corner at 518 Valencia.
