Nelson Ramirez de Arellano Conde has been involved with Fototeca de Cuba (the National Gallery of Photography in Havana, Cuba) for 16 years, first its Chief Curator, now its Director. Since 1994, he's also 1/2 of the artist/photographer duo Nelson & Liudmila.
On September 5th, 2017, Streetography is proud to host a talk and exhibition by Nelson Ramirez de Arellano Conde at Harvey Milk Photo Center, as Nelson bares his soul about the travails, surprises and joys of working and taking photographs of a forbidden country at the height of its American embargo - as well as shows some remarkable and rarely seen photos.
Thanks to Harvey Milk Photo Center, StreetFotoSF, and San Francisco Recreation and Parks for helping us host this free and open to the public event.
