We’ll go over ways to capture the essence of fleeting moments in just a few minutes each, while walking the streets of the city. A kit with all materials -- watercolor set, sketchbook, pen, waterbrush -- is included in the class fee (a $40 value).
We’ll cover how to:
> Use shape and design to choose a subject quickly> Use the fewest, most dynamic lines to capture a scene> Take advantage of texture to get a sense of place> Record the right kind of notes to finish a sketch later when in a rush> Splash watercolor loosely and use a “rainbow” approach to add sparkle to the sketch
After several exercises designed to build decisiveness and speed, we’ll share our sketches and see how different (or similar) everyone’s rapid captures turn out to be.
