And while it was once home to the well known hard-rock club, The Pound, thrash and heavy metal are not genres commonly associated with the area. However, one of the Bay Area's longest-running metal acts was bred in The Bayview. The African American trio Stone Vengeance has been rocking out since 1978, and has been in their current formation since 1983. Mashing up blues riffs and funky bass lines with banshee wails and blast beats, these "lords of heavy metal soul" have played with the likes of Exodus, Slayer and Death Angel.
