SEE EVENT DETAILS
Enjoy the Opening Weekend of Steve Javiel's "Pursuit of Happiness" solo exhibition on Nov. 5th & 6th, 11AM-6PM at Voss Gallery in conjunction with ArtSpan's SF Open Studios!

Dress your artsy best and meet fellow art lovers while taking pleasure in Steve's new works--in addition to a curated selection of regional artists in the gallery's lower level space [The Down Low]. The artist will be live painting during the duration of the event and is able to answer any questions you may have about his creative process and new series.

The exhibition is on view through Nov. 19, 2022. Gallery hours are Wed-Sat, 12-6PM or by appointment. Paintings on display range from $270-$2,800; worldwide shipping and local delivery options are available for any purchase.

"The strong presence of color in my abstract flower paintings is a celebration of how we're all from different backgrounds. Color is powerful and uplifts us when we're down. The same way color puts me at ease, my hope is that I can help others feel the same. This new series strives to spread positive energy, as being in a positive state of mind is a game changer!

My process begins by distorting photographs of flowers and analyzing their colors and compositions in my head. While painting, I utilize a variety of tools ranging from different-sized brushes and stencils to oil pastels and I even incorporate my own handwriting into the abstract backgrounds. Layers upon layers are applied until the painting surface takes on a life of its own." --Steve Javiel
