Saxophonist Steve Heckman presents an evening of cooking, straight-ahead jazz with his new quartet, featuring Bay Area stalwart Matt Clark on piano, Noah Schenker on bass and Bryan Bowman on drums. Steve has played with a variety of jazz greats, including trumpeters Howard McGhee, Chet Baker, Tom Harrell and Eddie Henderson; trombonists Roswell Rudd, Si Zentner and Urbie Green, guitarists John Abercrombie, Howard Alden, and Bruce Foreman; pianists Benny Green, Jim McNeely, George Cables, Andrew Hill, and Jessica Williams; drummers Jimmy Cobb, Billy Higgins, Eddie Moore, and Donald Bailey; and vocalists Jackie Ryan, Judy Wexler, Madeline Eastman, and Kellye Gray.
Emerging Artist will be pianist and vocalist Joy Hackett.
