The Bish is coming to Pleasanton's Firehouse Arts Center to open the venue's 10th Season with a concert of his biggest.
The set list for the Firehouse show includes hits On And On, It Might Be You (Theme from Tootsie), Save It For A Rainy Day, Separate Lives (Theme from White Nights), and many more of his award-winning songs, plus a few cuts from his most recent album (his 18th) titled "We'll Talk About It Later In The Car," just released this year.
Stephen Bishop is an Oscar and Grammy-nominated songwriter, and a world-class guitarist and vocalist with a celebrated career of over four decades of live performance, song craftsmanship, recording, and entertainment. In his autobiography, Eric Clapton calls Bishop one of his favorite songwriters.
Stephen has written the theme songs to films, including "Animal House," "The Money Pit," and "White Nights." His songs have been performed by Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Beyonce, Barbra Streisand, Art Garfunkel, Steve Perry, Stephanie Mills, Kenny Loggins, Johnny Mathis, Phoebe Snow, David Crosby, The Four Tops, and Pavarotti (this is the short list). Stephen was nominated for two Grammy's and awarded an Oscar nomination for his song, "Separate Lives.
Fun Fact: Stephen appeared as the "Charming Guitar Player," in Animal House. In the toga party scene, John Belushi slams Stephen's guitar to smithereens. And speaking of fun facts, Bishop is a great story-teller, notes Firehouse Arts Center programmer and supervisor Rob Vogt, and he promises some good times at the venue's Opening Night on September 7.
Reserved seat tickets: $36 - $46.
