Join the Art Center to celebrate spring and say farewell to our exhibition Community Creates! Our Spring Family Day will include an afternoon of FREE art-making for families with children ages 5 and up.
A variety of activities are planned in the spirit of Community Creates. Artist Lars Howlett will lead Family Day participants in constructing a large-scale labyrinth out of tree branches collected from recently pruned trees in the neighborhood. Participants will have an opportunity to create their own tree collages using the photographs featured in Angela Buenning Filo’s The Palo Alto Forest. Susan O'Malley's Community Advice will be the basis for a screen-printing activity where participants can print their own advice posters to distribute within their communities or hang in their homes.
All activities are led by professional artists, art teachers, and volunteers.
Art Center Foundation Member Preview: 1-2 p.m.
Family-level members and above can experience an exclusive preview of our Family Day events. Join us an hour early at 1 p.m. to have art activities all to yourselves, before the event officially begins at 2 p.m. To become a member, visit PAACF.org.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. All Family Days are FREE, thanks to the support of the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation.
