Spring Equinox: the Time of Balance
A time when day and night are equal; a time of balance and the promise of returning warmth and growth. It’s a time of hope and regeneration, but also a moment to stop and mourn for the losses of the winter.
Spring is planting time, but before we plant we must prepare the ground. Our Equinox ritual will help us compost the hurts, disappointments and frustrations of the past seasons, and consider what we will plant in the spring. For this turn of the wheel, we will be working with the ancient myth of Demeter and Persephone.
This live, online ritual includes:
A seasonal story you can share with children
A guided trance journey
A blessing ceremony for the seeds—both actual seeds we might plant, and/or the seeds of projects, plans, relationships and changes we might make.
A recording of the ceremony (delivered to your inbox within 24 hours of conclusion) for you to enjoy whenever you prefer
On Your Altar, Please Place:
A bowl of compost, if you have it, or soil. (I know, some of you might have to dig down through the snow to get it!)
A bowl of water.
Packets of seeds you might plant, now or later in the spring. (If you’re not a gardener, you could use some grains of rice, quinoa, or other seeds you can eat.)
Paper and something to draw with—colors are nice, so markers, crayons, watercolor paints or anything you like to work with.
Other Nice Things You Might Want:
Spring bulbs
Images of spring Goddesses, eggs, bunnies, etc.
For those of you who are forgetful or rushed, who are dashing in from work and trying to get the computer to turn on and don’t have an altar set up: paper, something to draw with, and a bowl of water will work.I look forward to meeting together and raising up some good, spring energy for regeneration and renewal!
