This intermediate/advanced water-based painting course will examine an intimate visual narrative. Content for this course will be centered on how human experience is remembered and transformed through self-reflexive, experiential learning that connects the artwork to both the personal and public spheres. Formal issues will include the use of color, paint handling, value, and composition. Slide lectures, readings, class discussions and critiques will enhance studio work time.
____Felicita Norris received her MFA in Art Practice from Stanford University and a BFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work is inspired by dreams, pop culture, and personal experiences, using interiors to re-create claustrophobic and psychologically disturbing motifs. Norris was recently long-listed for the Aesthetica Magazine Art Prize and featured in the Aesthetica Art Prize Anthology, Future Now. She has exhibited her work at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, Leeds College of Art, United Kingdom, Los Angeles and San Francisco. She currently lives and works in San Jose, California.

For courses that meet for six sessions or fewer, a 100% refund minus a $20 processing fee is given when written notice is received at least five business days before the first class.
