Like Joyce Manor and RVIVR, Connecticut's Spit-Take plays a particularly honest, raw version of indie-punk. Spit-Take, though, are noisier, angrier and lean less on pop melodies. Their singer has the unwieldy angst of Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock from the Lonesome Crowded West days, and the expressed outrage over societal hypocrisies—all while attempting to define what it means to grow into adulthood. The band released their debut LP, Garbage In My Heart, earlier this year and hits San Jose on their full U.S. tour. (KF)
