Spanning The Gate: ArtSpan On The Shores Of Sausalito Exhibit

SEE EVENT DETAILS
For the first time in its celebrated history, 19 artists from ArtSpan come to the Sausalito Center For The Arts for a multi-medium exhibition, July 14 - August 13.

The exhibition also includes an Opening Night Artist Reception and film screening with Director Griff Williams for his award winning film Tell Them We Were Here.

ArtSpan supports emerging and established artists who contribute to San Francisco's inimitable creative energy, while bolstering the next generation of artists and encouraging the public to engage in preserving and furthering San Francisco's vibrant art community.

Join us as we exhibit a multi-medium collection by 19 ArtSpan artists, representing the best of San Francisco.

Exhibition Dates: July 14 - August 13. Wednesday - Sunday, 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Opening Night Artist Reception: July 15, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Meet the creative talent behind Spanning the Gate. Exhibiting artists will be on site to discuss their work, their backgrounds, and the inspiration behind their artistic creations. Enjoy light appetizers, live music and a no-host bar.

Film Screening ($15): July 20. 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Tell Them We Were Here chronicles artists living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area and how they extend the historical legacy of Bay Area activism. Embedded within the art practices of these eight artists we see the most pressing issues of our time, Prison Reform, Homelessness, Racial Equity, Feminism, Environmental Justice, Income Inequality. In an age of hypercapitalism, these artists represent an empowering alternative worldview, one that emphasizes creativity and community over capital.
