Volti concludes its 2022-2023 season with a diverse program of groundbreaking new choral works including the world premiere of Words Cast Shadows by Resident Composer Mark Winges and the U.S. premiere of Aletheia by Lithuanian composer Zibuokle Martinaityte. Underscoring the organization's commitment to the music of today and its rich history of expanding the choral repertoire through commissioning new works, two past Volti commissions will be reprised including In the Rain Shadow by Eric Tuan and a movement from Ochre by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw, alongside Given Sound by Trevor Weston.
