Silicon Valley has the richest zip code in the country (Atherton) and a large homeless populations-clearly the prosperity of the tech boom has not kept its promise to everyone. Rapper Society addresses this disparity head on in the single "Gold Out West" from his project P.A.S.T. D.U.E. (which dropped on Dec. 9). This event celebrates the project's release. P.A.S.T. D.U.E. has twelve tracks-10 songs and one poem. The beats are raw and immediate, and the lyrics are personal, political and quite heartfelt. Society and DJ Malcolm Lee open the show with poetry and a capella performances, followed by an open mic, then Society will perform some cuts off of P.A.S.T. D.U.E. (Stephen Layton)
