Manresa Gallery welcomes you to take part in two upcoming events accompanying artists Lynn Marie Kirby and Ali Naschke-Messing's work in our current exhibition, Thresholds of Faith: Four Entries into the Beyond.
On Sunday, January 12th at 12PM Lynn Marie Kirby will be conducting a second Skype session with the Sisters of the Holy Cross in San Paolo, Brazil. Come join us in a discussion about compassion with Sister June!
On Wednesday, January 15th at 4 PM Ali Naschke-Messing will be leading a meditation inside St. Ignatius Church. Ali's monthly meditations coincide with the full moon and will focus on both walking and sitting of different durations. Participants will be taught simple techniques to awaken awareness of body and place. She invites people to explore presence at its core, within and without.
Thresholds of Faith: Four Entries into the Beyond provides the space for four visual artists of differing faith backgrounds (Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim) to investigate the meaning of their spiritual practices and religious backgrounds through art making. The independent studio-like spaces within the gallery create unique vantage points from which broader platforms for energized interfaith dialogue can occur.
