The Albany Arts Committee Presents
Sky, Mountain, and Waterscape
ink wash landscape paintings
by Kam Cheung Mok
“Sky, Mountain & Waterscape” is a painting series consisting of fifteen Chinese ink wash landscape paintings documenting memorable natural landscapes around the world. Subject matter includes mountain ranges in China, glaciers in Norway, cherry blossoms in Japan, and coastal cliffs in Southern California. Terrains, rivers, waterfalls, and skies vary in color and mood, transporting the viewer to different seasons and geographic locations. Rather than just painting landscapes in the traditional Chinese ink wash method, colors palettes are used to capture the mood and add contemporary western flavor. All of these paintings are inspired by Kam Cheung’s keen observation, careful composition, and detailed analysis of the landscapes he has visited during his travels. I hope you will find a place of resonance in this series.
This exhibition will be held from January 13th to April 8th, 2018 at Albany Community Center Foyer, 1249 Marin Ave, Albany, CA.
Free Admission.
Opening Reception with Live Painting Demonstration and Food
Sunday, January 14,2018/ 4-6pm
