Silver City Bound + Roy Williams & The Human Hands at the Redwood Grove

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Americana meets jazz w/ swing

Silver City Bound
Silver City Bound is “Americana at its best” (Huffington Post). A unique collaboration between guitarist Justin Poindexterand accordionist/keyboardist Sam Reider, Silver City Bound is American roots music in motion. Their electrifying live show takes you on the journey of two exceptional young artists from different backgrounds, together “bound for alt-country glory” (Elmore Magazine): a magnetic southern storyteller, the son of a country singer, from the rolling hills of North Carolina; a San Francisco-raised, young jazz talent who fell in love with bluegrass and is reinventing American folk music on the accordion. With soulful harmonies, dazzling improvisation, and infectious grooves, Silver City Bound is music that moves your body and your soul.

Roy Williams & The Human Hands
Roy Williams, an American songwriter, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist, writes music with a curious ear and an open mind. From the classic pop tunes heard on the first cassette Roy owned—The Beatles “Live at the BBC in 1963”—to the incomparable instrumental canon of Django Reinhart, Roy’s influences eclipse genre categorization, a trait that is reflected in the adventurous spirit of his own original songs. The Human Hands is a collective of virtuosic acoustic musicians from Brooklyn, NY. Spontaneously combining bluegrass, gypsy jazz, and Americana, you can find The Human Hands conjuring up mind-bending live performances in New York City most nights of the week.

Our annual concert series is back! Enjoy a magical music experience this summer under towering redwoods in the Berkeley hills. Redwood Grove door opens at 5 pm, ticket includes Garden admission.
