Silent Pictures
Silent Pictures was founded in 2010 by Alexander Mann (guitars, vocals). Alexander performed in the early 90's through 2000's in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene with bands; Valeria, Your Precious You, Mellow Drunk and Boyskout.
By 2010, Alexander began recording the first self-titled EP for Silent Pictures, followed up with the “Loretta” EP 2011 and “Cosmic Slumber Party” 2012. By the release of Silent Pictures first full length LP entitled “Under Exposed” in 2013, both drummer Dave Conrad (Odd Numbers) and guitarist Jafar Green (The Bang) had joined the band.
Silent Pictures second full length LP “Let It Begin” was released in 2016 with a roster of noteworthy producers and engineers such as Dave Schiffman (Adele), Joe Foster (Co-founder Creation Records, JAMC), John Fryer (Cocteau Twins, Depeche Mode) and Ricky Maymi (BJM).
Silent Pictures is currently writing and recording new material for their upcoming third full length album. The Silent Pictures sound has been described as a mélange of shoegaze influences as well as a strong Roxy Music presence in their sphere of sound and live shows.
Starover Blue
The unmistakable tones of a Juno 106, both expansive and nostalgic, combine with ambient layers, sparkling guitars, and bittersweet vocals to define Portland experimental dream pop band Starover Blue.
After meeting in the music department at San Jose State in 2007, founding members Kendall and Dirk Sallay-Milotz began their musical partnership and quickly became inseparable. Live, they pull from a multi-faceted discography and have served as local support for a spectrum of bands including The Velvet Teen and Orenda Fink.
Moral High Horses
Formed in San Francisco sometime in a foggy 2016, this alternative-psych group has been painstakingly plotting their break out in the Bay Area music scene. Formerly known as Foreign (for the record -- never a Foreigner cover band), the band gained some momentum after collaborating with local artists and friends on a string of video releases for the self-recorded tracks “Don't Hesitate” and “Apophenia.”
After a name change last fall, the young steeds holed up at home to experiment with a sound that showcases their strangeness and inclination to be accessible to all. Their debut EP, which is being released independently on Friday the 13th of October, demonstrates authentic songwriting with woozy-but-energetic guitar work. The band hits the pacific northwest this fall.
