at Incarnation Episcopal Church (see times)

Date & Time: Sat.  October 14,  7:30 pm Venue: 1750 29th Avenue, San Francisco Tickets: $20 General, $15 Seniors/Students
About the Artists
Comprised of two sensationally gifted and acclaimed virtuosi – clarinetist Maksim Shtrykov [pronounced: sh-TRY-koff] and pianist Misuzu Tanaka – the Shtrykov-Tanaka Duo has been heard throughout the U.S., garnering an impressive record of instant re-engagements. Clarinet and piano duos are still rare gems on the modern concert stage despite the immense repertoire. With its innovative programming, master classes, and recitals, the Duo makes it their mission to transform the superb instrumental combination from a rare occurrence to a welcomed guest in concert series across the globe.
The musicians first met in December 2012 and, as avid chamber music collaborators, instantly felt a unique artistic connection resulting in an inspiring and creative friendship. Both artists are graduates of The Juilliard School and enjoy extensive international solo careers that have heard them in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Germany’s Leipzig Gewandhaus and Japan’s Izumi Hall.
The 2016-2017 season highlights will include concerts for the Chamber Music Society of Maryland, Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society and at the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts in Chicago. During past seasons, the Duo gave numerous concerts on many eminent concert series across the country including Summer Stars Classical Series in Ocean Grove (NJ), Tuesday’s Music Live Series in Augusta (GA), Shorter University’s Guest Artist Series in Rome (GA), Frederick Collection Historical Piano Concerts in Ashburnham, (MA) Starlight Tea Concert Series in Lancaster (PA) and Endless Mountain Festival in Elmira (NY) among others.
