Shelby, Texas

Let’s clarify something right out of the gate:

1 – Yes, Shelby, Texas is a real place

2 – No, the band is not from there (but they are firmly committed to playing there someday)

The Shelby, Texas we’re talking about is a band that writes and performs original music ranging from country to classic & southern rock. They also perform a carefully selected group of covers that fit those genres and more.

Shelby Lanterman, from Napa CA and MichaelRyan “Texas” McCauley of San Francisco, formed the band in June of 2016 and have since played over 150 shows in 23 states including a headlining gig at San Francisco’s famous Great American Music Hall, a showcase at South By Southwest 2017, The Blue Note and a headlining show at the 2017 Roswell UFO Festival. Through multiple national and regional tours, Shelby, Texas has built up a loyal following, and are looking to expand that fan base with another national tour in fall of 2017.

Currently in the studio recording their first album, it’s their live shows that have earned Shelby, Texas accolades and an ever-growing fan base. Often compared to June Carter and Johnny Cash, Shelby,Texas puts on a high energy show that is musically captivating, entertaining and fun. They rely heavily on interacting with the audience, guaranteeing that no two shows are ever alike.

Shelby Lanterman, born & raised in Napa, has been performing live since the age of 16. As a solo artist, she has opened for Lisa Loeb, Bob Mould, Chris Trapper, Hot Club of Cowtown and several others. She has performed at Bottlerock, Hollywood’s Roxy Theater, Rockwood in NYC and many more. Her current album Paper Thin was released in fall of 2016 to rave reviews. KVYN and KMOU regularly play I Blame You and Whiskey Drinkin’ Woman, as well as the previously released Turnin’ To You. Whiskey Drinkin’ Woman won the Original Song Contest at the 2017 Roswell UFO Festival sponsored by KMOU, and the video became the first official collaboration piece for Shelby, Texas.

MichaelRyan “Texas” McCauley was born in Hawaii, grew up in Roseville, CA and currently resides in San Francisco which perfectly explains his nickname “Texas.” He has been performing for several years in San Francisco at various venues and building his reputation as a performer and songwriter. His efforts were rewarded in 2016 when he won the West Coast Songwriters Competition with his original composition of “Home.” This song has gone on to become an audience favorite at the Shelby, Texas shows, and will be included on their upcoming album.

Oddly enough, it was the West Coast Songwriters Competition where Shelby and Texas first met. Impressed by each other’s songwriting acumen, and dedication to music as a living, they decided to begin collaborating. It’s a case of serendipity that we all get to enjoy!

Wolf Creek Boys

Wolf Creek Boys are an acoustic duo proudly hailing from Grass Valley, CA; comprised of brothers Mathew and Jerry Sena. Their focus on honest songwriting, as well as a sound that blends Americana influences with their upbringing in the Sierra Nevada foothills, has continued to grow both their live and recorded presence in the northern California music scene.

They’d spent the first few months playing local open mics, but have since moved up to sharing the stage with Chuck Ragan at venues such as the Sierra Nevada Big Room in Chico and Moes Alley in Santa Cruz. The Wolf Creek Boys spent most of 2016 playing shows around California and Nevada to support their first self-titled physical release, and are making plans to continue to tour along the West Coast and beyond. They’re scheduled to release their next EP late in the summer of 2017, in addition to releasing a video produced by Devan Power.

Gutter Swan

San Francisco based Americana duo. Where the dark and the light mingle.

Tyler Edwards

Beginning his career in 2008, Tyler Edwards wrote and performed with the rock band I Anthem. After releasing two EPs and an LP, I Anthem had multiple songs breaking the Top 10 on Billboard's Rock Charts and music featured on MTV and NASCAR. In 2015, Edwards launched his solo career with a 6-song EP, “Too Young for Love” and moved across the country to Seattle, Washington.

Since relocating to Seattle, Tyler has cultivated a strong grass-roots following, building from open-mics to selling out notable venues around the city. The stark honesty and passion that make his live shows so compelling also translates into his recorded work. Ear to the Ground Music notes that “...Edwards has a genuineness about him that makes his album infinitely listenable".

The release of his debut full length album, “A Few Good Hearts" gives listeners a personal insight into his change and growth since moving to Seattle, and bridges his musical influences in rock, folk, and country. With lyrics as a focal point, the music moves in and around the words to paint a beautiful piece of verbal and sonic imagery that tells a unique story.
