Take two of my favorite local bluegrass(ish) bands, The Beauty Operators and Muleskinner Stomp, add in a $3 whiskey shot deal (whenever the bands play an "80s cover"), mix that with a bluegrass and new wave music junkie and what you get is...DRUNK!
Please join me as I celebrate another birthday! Yes I'm young as you think I am. ;)
THE BEAUTY OPERATORS (SF)
This stringband was born on the mean streets of SF, and out of the local bluegrass jam scene and music venues...and various flea markets. The Beauty Operators are known for their high-energy live performances, mixing traditional bluegrass, modern originals, and irreverent transformations of pop songs, and of course, cutting hair -- not to mention the "tallest man in bluegrass" plays bass and sings in this band.

MULESKINNER STOMP (SF)
San Francisco's Muleskinner Stomp is a who's-who of veteran pickers and singers as well as a couple fresh new faces. So with Muleskinner you get the best of both worlds -- old meets new,...or is it new meets old? Either way, it's a fresh "new" take on an "old" classic sound.
