Open Windows Cooperative presents Sheddings: a multidisciplinary art show featuring objects of change by Kirstyn Hom. For one night only, view and interact with three new works by Hom, bridging performance, video, sculpture, and installation.
Kirstyn Hom is a San Francisco based artist working in sculpture, installation, and performance art. She received her BA in Art Practice at UC Berkeley in, and has studied abroad at Leeds University for textile design. Her current work is in response to the gentrification in San Francisco, and sexual violence experienced by women. By breaking, unraveling, and shedding her materials, she is hoping to find generative ways to work through these destructive states. Hom is attempting to create moments where the borders of our bodies break down, and the messes we create begin to merge.
