SFPublicCanvas Community Arts Workshop

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Tenderloin Museum (see times)
#SFPublicCanvas, in collaboration with Larkin Street Youth Services and ArtSpan, present the #SFPublicCanvas Community Arts Workshop. #SFPublicCanvas, a public art project featuring projection mapping and vertical dance, is seeking art submissions from the public addressing the cultural and financial shifts taking place in the Mid-Market/Tenderloin area and the city at large.

Project organizers are holding an art competition awarding cash prizes in three categories and many submissions will be integrated into a work of video projection art to be used in the #SFPublicCanvas performance event taking place in June, 2016.

The Community Arts Workshop is chance to learn about #SFPublicCanvas, discuss the past, present, and future of San Francisco, and create art to share your thoughts, ideas, and hopes about the changing face of our city. The event will feature an interactive presentation and discussion about the project and the impact of public art led by Uday Joshi, an expert in community engagement, and Amelia Rudolph, the Founder and Artistic Director of BANDALOOP.

Following the presentation, guests will have the chance to create art at several different “art stations” throughout the room. Art supplies will be provided, so come with your creative juices flowing to lend your voice to our one-of-a-kind public art project.

This event is FREE OF CHARGE. We invite people of all ages who are interested in creating art, learning about public art, and contributing to the discussion surrounding the changes taking place in San Francisco.
