Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle is an internationally recognized conceptual artist known
for his activist-inspired public works. Manglano-Ovalle creates technologically
advanced pieces that crystallize complex political and cultural narratives into iconic,
beautiful forms—a thundercloud, an iceberg, Mies van der Rohe’s architecture,
or a fictitious Iraqi mobile biological weapons truck. His work prompts singular
experiences from inverted utopias, refabricated images of war, and the insurgence
of Modernism. Manglano-Ovalle’s numerous awards include a United States Artists
Fellowship and a MacArthur Foundation Award.
