WHAT: Join exhibition curator and Galleries Manager, Aimee Le Duc as she moderates a panel discussion with exhibiting artist Sabine Reckewell, and Bay Area artists Gail Dawson and Zachary Royer Scholz. Using Sabine Reckewell’s current Grove Street installation, Dual Inclinations as a starting point, this open-ended conversation will explore, among other topics, how these artists approach their practices, the materials they employ, and how viewers can and have ascribed meaning to their work. The three artists share commonalities such as creating site-specific installations and temporary forms; however each artist approaches these strategies from vastly different conceptual frameworks and aesthetic points of view.
This event continues the SFAC Galleries series of free public programs that expand the dialogue around our exhibitions by engaging local artists to share both their thoughts on the exhibited work and their own studio practices.
