SF Performances Presents: Sunday Strings

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Spend your Sunday afternoons savoring exquisite string music in a superb venue in the midst of one of San Francisco's most beautiful spots-the Presidio.

In this new Beischer Family Sunday Strings series, a mix of highly acclaimed musicians-some veterans, some rising stars-come together for a series of captivating collaborative performances in the historic Presidio Theatre, curated by renowned violinist Owen Dalby.

Violinist Alexi Kenney has earned wide-spread acclaim for his insightful and artistic interpretations, as well as his inspired programming, often melding the new with the old, the familiar with the obscure. He is the recipient of a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award and an Avery Fisher Career Grant.

Praised as "dazzling" (The New York Times), "expert and versatile" (The New Yorker), and "a fearless and inquisitive violinist" (San Francisco Classical Voice), Owen Dalby leads a rich musical life as a soloist, chamber musician, new and early music expert, orchestral concertmaster, and educator. He is Artist-in-Residence at Stanford University and lives in San Francisco, California.

Cellist Christopher Costanza has been praised by The New York Times for his "rich tone" and "hypnotic delicacy." He has performed in recital and with orchestras throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, and has appeared at festivals such as Marlboro, Spoleto, and Santa Fe.

Pianist Amy Yang has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. She has appeared at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Louvre, and the National Gallery of Art, among others.

Program:
DANNY ELFMAN: Piano Quartet
KORNGOLD: Suite, Op. 23 for Two Violins, Cello, and Piano left hand

$60/45.
