JOIN THE AUTHORS of the SF Guide, Walking San Francisco's 49 Mile Scenic Drive, for a 3-mile hike along the final section of the 49 Mile Scenic Drive: Walk #17, Ferry Bldg to City Hall.
Get a head start on your new Year's Resolutions with an invigorating walk.
We'll skirt the edge of the financial district... stand at the original Bay shoreline... take an advdenture South of Market down Howard, with a side trip to the Martin Luther King, Jr fountain at Yerba Buena Gardens... clutch our purses as we sneak quickly past the 6th Street homeless shelters... walk under pianos dangling from the sky... wave at Twitter HQ... and then... run up the City Hall steps and celebrate finishing the last segment of SF's 49 Mile Scenic Drive. Woohoo!
As we walk by it all, the authors will share a few tidbits of the most-likely-true history and fun factoids we discovered while researching the guidebook.
BEGIN: We meet in Front of the Ferry Bldg clock (at the end of Market Street)
END: We end in Front of SF City Hall. We will hop on Muni back to the beginning (you are welcome to join us). Or take off for your own adventure.
Difficulty: flat terrain, busy downtown streets
Well-behaved children welcomed (this isn't the best walk on which to bring a dog)
