Bay Area audiences will have a rare opportunity to experience dance from 40 world dance and music traditions as more than 1200 dancers in more than 100 dance companies audition for a coveted spot in the 2016 Festival, scheduled for June.
Cultures, countries, and traditions that will be represented include Algeria, Argentina, Bali, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Central and West Africa, China, Colombia, Congo, Cuba, Egypt and the Middle East, Ghana, Greece, Haiti, Hungary, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Nicaragua, Okinawa, Palestine, Peru, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Tahiti, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the US, and West Java.
