The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra opens its season with a world premiere by BMI Foundation Composer-in-Residence Michael Gilbertson, finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Music2018 Gilbertson’s says that Beethoven’s music has always been a source of inspiration for me. His music’s incessant rhythmic energy has been a particular interest of mine. The concert continues with an interactive demonstration with Maestro Ben Simon and the SFCO giding you through Beethoven Symphony No 6, revealing its hidden depths and beauties followed by a complete performance. The Sixth Symphony brims with its gentle, poetic beauty, affirming the splendor of nature and life.
