SF Ballet presents The Nutcracker

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Step into the reverie of little Clara in this unforgettable holiday tale and enter a magical wonderland of toy soldiers, a blizzard of snowflakes, and a kaleidoscope of more than 150 dancers. Battle the King of Mice and of course, dance through the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Share unforgettable moments and everlasting memories with friends and family during this incredibly special holiday celebration.

* Nutcracker features 83 Company dancers and 110 SF Ballet School students in 183 breathtaking costumes, the largest production in SF Ballet's 90-year history.

* Set in San Francisco's post-1906 earthquake era, the opening scene features the Painted Ladies

* SF Ballet staged the first American production of Nutcracker in 1944, and 65 live orchestra members continue to perform Tchaikovsky's score

Nutcracker runs two hours with one intermission, and is most magical for children 5 and older.

To maintain an enjoyable experience for all patrons, children should stay in their own seats, and remain quiet during the performance.

Children under age 3, lap-sitting, and standing are not allowed.

~~~~~~~~
On Christmas Eve 1944, the audience at San Francisco's War Memorial Opera House experienced the American premiere of Nutcracker. An instant sensation, the ballet launched a national holiday tradition.
This holiday season, join us as the lights dim, the music soars, snowflakes swirl, flowers dance, and a little girl dreams about a whole new world in a Nutcracker that is as unique as it is magical. And it's only at SF Ballet.
