Sculptor and painter Seward Johnson (1930-2020) founded the Johnson Atelier Technical Institute in 1974 to help sculptors retain control over their artwork and gain access to previously guarded production techniques. His Foundation continues to enhance and enrich both artists and the public long after his passing in 2020. It is a privilege for Yountville Arts to bring this exhibit to our Napa Valley Community.
Guided by Seward's passion for celebrating everyday moments and the collective joy of life, the Seward Johnson Atelier is joined by Yountville Arts in seeking to preserve and expand his artistic vision, ensuring his work continues to ignite curiosity, dialogue, and delight, increasingly reminding viewers that art in public places contributes toward the shaping of impressions and memories, all the while inspiring a human connection.
