Serene, piano

Alexander Scriabin Sonata No. 3; Sonata No. 4; and Sonata No. 5
György Ligeti Etude No. 13 – L’escalier du Diable
Maurice Ravel La valse
Franz Liszt Sonata in B minor

Serene presents a program ranging from Ligeti to Scriabin and more. A rising young pianist, Serene enjoys sharing the life-changing beauty and power of music with all audiences, in a wide range of venues: from the Vienna Musikverein, to Golden Gate Park, to the inside of a decommissioned Boeing 747. Although Serene never attended conservatory, she is now being invited as an international soloist, most recently a performance with the Concerto Budapest Symphony Orchestra, of Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No 2. Her unconventional path and unique approach to the piano has been known to “magically enthrall audiences” (John McCarthy, Director Emeritus SFCM) and some of her major influences include Gergely Bogányi, Albert Frantz, and Jim McCormick. Prior to embarking on her current trajectory as a next-generation pianist, Serene studied computer science at Carnegie Mellon University and graduated one year early with university honors. She is an ex-Google software engineer, but now focuses on music full-time. She is also CTO of an international music company, with investors including Billy Joel and Hans Zimmer. Serene’s online following has been rapidly growing, and you can also follow her musical journey on Instagram: @serenepianist
