Sept 18 Deadline for Fog Fest Photo Contest

Calling all photographers! Grab your cameras, scroll through your photo roll and get ready to share your love of photography in the 2023 Fog Fest Photo Contest! Entries -- printed and framed -- are being accepted Fri, Sept 15 - Mon Sept 18, 1 - 5 pm, at Sanchez Art Center, 1220 Linda Mar Blvd., Pacifica. Entry forms with complete information are available at Sanchez Art Center (galleries are open Fri - Sat - Sun, 1-5 pm), or you can download from https://www.SanchezArtCenter.org/CallforEntries.htm.

The contest is coordinated by Sanchez Art Center in partnership with the Pacific Coast Fog Fest. Photos will be exhibited at the Pacific Coast Fog Fest Art Corner, Sat-Sun, Sept 23-24. Cash awards will be presented to first-place ($100), second-place ($50), and third-place ($25) winners in each of four divisions on Sunday at the Fog Fest, and an award certificate will be presented for Judges' Best of Show. Award winners will also be invited to participate in a group show to take place at Sanchez Art Center in 2024.

Each photographer may enter up to 2 photos for a single entry fee of $10. All photos must be framed and wired to hang, and total size, including frame, may not exceed 12" x 14". Four divisions offer an opportunity to select the area or areas that best suit your photographic interest and style. The four divisions are:
o Division 1 Our Natural World (land, sea, air, flora & fauna)
o Division 2 Portraits (individual or group; of family members of any species; friends; and/or selfies)
o Division 3 Nostalgia/History Today (focus on things of old still with us today, i.e., historic buildings; artisans working with traditional tools; vintage objects; one generation passing skills to another; other remembrances)
o Division 4 Black & White (any subject/no restrictions)

Acclaimed Pacifica photographers Alan Grinberg, Edwin Hacking, and Sharron L Walker will serve as this year's judges. All three have spent years traveling our Bay Area environs and around the world in search of the perfect shot.

There are no residency, geographic content, or age restrictions. So fill out an application and bring your work to Sanchez Art Center, 1220 Linda Mar Blvd, Fri - Mon, 1-5 pm, beginning Sept 15 -- Sept 18. The entry deadline, no exceptions, is Monday, Sept 18 at 5 pm. Entry forms and full contest requirements can be obtained from Sanchez Art Center (in person, or on the Call for Entries page at https://www.SanchezArtCenter.org). For additional information, contact Sanchez Art Center at 355.1894, Mon-Fri 1-5pm, or email [email protected].
