Secret Psychedelica and company are extremely excited to bring the longstanding Pisces party back to the DNA Lounge! The original Pisces party spawned as a Secret Psychedelica theme night back in 2002 with only two guest DJs back then. Over the years, it has grown and moved through various venues before finding its latest home at the DNA Lounge in 2018. The one constant over this 20 year span has been the focus on bringing the best psytrance talent to the San Francisco Bay Area. And to continue this two decades old tradition, it's with great pleasure that we announce the San Francisco debut performance of Rising Dust at Pisces 2022!
Rising Dust is the Israeli psytrance outfit co-founded by John Aharon. As a longtime veteran of electronic based dance floor music, John had developed a new musical goal with a desire to leave a significant mark on people and their own personal existence. Thus, Rising Dust emerged and a new rhythmic, melodic quest had begun. Rising Dust's first EP titled Dust Everywhere was introduced on Blue Tunes Records in 2013. And as the name would foreshadow, Rising Dust went on to release music everywhere on many well established labels including Iboga, Nutek, Mainstage Records, and ultimately landing on Astrix's Shamanic Tales imprint. With 5 full length albums, scores of singles, and countless compilation appearances in the books, Rising Dust continues to push forward and find new ways to impress fans all over the globe. The latest album, Shofar, combines the feel of late 90s psytrance and the warmth of analog instrumentation clothed in today's sound and production values and features collaborations with Juno Reactor, SFX (Astral Projection), and Ritmo. Prepare yourself to be carried by hypnotic beats and immersed in deep psychedelic vibes when the music of Rising Dust falls on San Francisco for the first time.
Accompanying Rising Dust will be an all pisces lineup of psytrance and progressive artists meticulously selected to provide a harmonious flow from start to finish. From Southern California, Ruben Karapetyan of Movement Recordings and Hanz Dwight of Pulsar Music will set the tone for the evening while Khromata & Michael Liu and Rob-Ot bring the Northern California boom!
As always, the Pisces party will feature a second room dedicated to the dark, stomping sounds of techno and the soulful vibrations of house music furnished by our local fish friends.
