Trumpeter/composer Sean Jones is SF Performances' current Jazz Artist-in-Residence and the newest member of the all star SFJAZZ Collective.
Jones has crafted a tribute to his hero and his own growing San Francisco ties with "At the Black Hawk." Backed by some of the Bay Area's best jazz musicians-including Marcus Shelby and the talented young Oakland Future Trio-Jones will recreate a legendary live recording by Miles Davis at the Black Hawk, a storied San Francisco jazz club that was once on the corner of Turk and Hyde Streets just a few blocks from the Strand Theater.
Seating will be General Admission.
