Filmed, edited, animated, and directed by WAAJEED, Bling47 Breaks DILLA Edition, is a collection of short films uncovering the distinctive samples used by J Dilla as the foundation to his iconic sonic collages, as discovered by some of the world’s greatest DJ’s and producers. Inspired and influenced by Dilla’s prolific output, Waajeed challenged himself to produce a video a week every Monday for a year in 2012. Bling47 Breaks DILLA Edition remains an integral component to celebrating the legacy of his close friend James Yancey.
Waajeed will also be sharing rare, unseen footage of his memories and experience with J Dilla and we kindly ask for you to be present and refrain from taking any photo or video during the event in exchange for this intimate glimpse.
