Bow Wow
Discovered (and named) by Snoop Dogg at the tender age of six, Lil' Bow Wow has been putting in work, appearing on soundtracks like Wild, Wild, West and Big Momma's House. In 2000, at the age of 13, he released his debut album Beware Of Dog. Produced by Jermaine Dupri (also responsible for the success of Kris Kross and Da Brat), the album's catchy beats, curse-less rhymes, and heavily rotated single "Bounce With Me" have fast made Bow Wow a hugely popular superstar. His second LP Doggy Bag dropped in late 2001, featuring the hit "Thank You."
Omarion
After three years and four albums with boy band superstars B2K, lead singer Omarion struck out on a solo career. Without his bandmates, the young R&B vocalist flexes a similar sound and formula; slickly produced balladry and party jams aimed at his large female fan base. Omarion's debut single "Never Gonna Let You Go (She's A Keepa)," a collabo with Big Boi of Outkast, was released in the early fall of 2004, his first solo album O followed at the end of the year.
Marques Houston
A singer/producer/actor, Marques Houston first came to fame as a 10-year-old member of R&B boy band Immature (later known as IMX) in the 1990s. After several successful albums with the group, he went solo in 2003, releasing an album called MH. A collection of party jams and booty call ballads, the LP also featured collaborations with R. Kelly and Jermaine Dupri. In addition to establishing himself as a solo artist, he also produces tracks (for Destiny's Child, B2K, etc.) as a member of Platinum Status. When not in the studio, Marques might be found on a soundstage; he frequently appeared on the TV show Sister, Sister.
Bobby Valentino
Down with Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace crew, Bobby Valentino lends some R&B flavor to the rowdy squad. The fast-rising vocalist first hit the scene as the teenaged lead singer for a group called MISTA. They scored a hit in 1996 with the single "Blackberry Molasses," though their self-titled album didn't fare as well. The members went their separate ways, with Bobby relocating from Jackson, Mississippi, to Atlanta to attend college. After graduating in 2003, his demo tape caught the attention of Ludacris, who promptly signed him to his DTP imprint. In early 2005, Valentino lit up airwaves everywhere with the undeniably banging Tim-and-Bob-produced love jam "Slow Down," setting the stage for his debut solo LP, DTP Presents: Bobby Valentino.
