If only those darkly ironic 70s glam rock bands had been just a little lighter, they might have morphed into San Francisco indie outfit Scissors for Lefty, which plays some bouncy, guitar centric dance pop like Franz Ferdinand. If fun were a crime, Scissors for Lefty would be on death row. The sound conjures up Wham but with a little more oomph, not to mention a dash of sunny jangle guitar. Lead singer Bryan Garza has that low register melodramatic voice, kind of like Jarvis Cocker from Pulp. Its all in there: rock, pop.
