Boro is a class of Japanese textiles that have been mended or patched together. The term is derived from Japanese boroboro, meaning something tattered or repaired.  Combined with sashiko embroidery, a traditional Japanese stitching technique used for decoration and reinforcement, we can mend and extend the lives of our favorite garments.  We will learn the basics of boro repair and sashiko stitching, with time to work on repairs and decorative details.  Students should bring in garments or accessories that need mending- everything else will be provided!
Materials: Sashiko needles, Sashiko thread, Thimble, Pins, Embroidery hoop, Assorted fabric, Instruction booklet.
This workshop will be on Sunday September 17th from 1-4pm at the LPP Workshop (855 Valencia Street). Light snacks and drinks will be provided. Limited to 12 students. All workshops include 20% discount in the LPP shop the day of their workshop.
If you need to cancel a class then it must be done 72 hours prior.  We only give class/store credit.  This is non-negotiable. Currently classes are 21+.
