Oakland painter, printmaker and visual artist, Sandy Walker will be showing more than 35 small paintings and woodcut prints at the Gary Francis Fine Art Gallery. Mr. Walker’s body of work spans five decades and his extensive body of work and exhibition history is a monumental achievement.
Mr. Walker’s work is held in numerous renowned collections, including New York's Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC; and the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts at the Palace of Legion of Honor. He has had solo exhibitions throughout the U.S. including the Oakland Museum of Art, San Jose Museum of Art and several New York, Washington D.C. and San Francisco fine art galleries.
Mr. Walker's art occupies the space between abstraction and representation. This retrospective exhibition of his small paintings celebrates the fluidity of the figure in motion and the vastness of the American landscape.
