Sanchez Art Center presents Left Coast Annual Juried Exhibition and 2022 LCA Awards Exhibition

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Sanchez Art Center, Pacifica--Opening Friday, April 14, with a reception from 7-9 pm is the 2023 Left Coast Annual Exhibition. Juror Renee Cyla Villasenor, Inaugural Programs Manager and Curatorial Associate, Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco, selected over 55 pieces from an impressive collection of more than 900 entries by artists on the left coast (Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington). The exhibition, per Villasenor, shares "works dealing with deeply personal facets of identity to joyful expressions of color and form. It was important to highlight the effect the eventful and emotional past couple of years have had, which can be seen in the expansive range of medium and subject matter reflected in the works selected." Villasenor will share her experience, and artists in the show will take part in a virtual Gallery Walk, via Zoom, at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 23. (A link to attend will be sent out via email and posted to the Sanchez Art Center Facebook page.) Showing concurrently is the 2022 LCA Awards Exhibition, featuring work by Ric Ambrose and Tamera Avery, selected by 2022 juror Jeff Nathanson, Executive Director and Art Curator, Museum of Sonoma County. Live music by the Rob Wullenjon Jazz Combo will provide added enjoyment for those attending the opening night reception, at no charge to the public. After opening night, gallery hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1-5 pm, through Sunday, May 21. Upcoming: Sanchez Art Center welcomes spring with a fundraiser titled Art x Nature x Art. Mark your calendars for the weekend of Fri April 28-Sun April 30. Tickets by timed interval are available on Eventbrite. Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd, Pacifica, CA.
