The San Francisco Map Fair will be held in "the Lodge" at the Regency Center on 1290 Sutter St. The fair consist of over 20 antique map, print, and book dealers from all across North America and parts of Europe.
Thousands of maps, prints, and books spanning over 500 years of art and history will be on display and available for purchase over this three day event. All NET proceeds from the S.F. Map Fair will benefit the History in Your Hands Foundation, a non-profit organization the seeks to provide classrooms with authentic, historical objects in an effort to help foster a more enriched learning experience.The S.F. Map Fair will also include a lecture series put together by the California Map Society. Topics for these lectures will include celestial mapping, the historical development of San Francisco as seen through maps, the bridge between paper and digital maps and crowdsourcing information to produce modern atlases.
Aside from the preview night cocktail reception, the San Francisco Map Fair is FREE to the public with a suggested donation to the History in Your Hands Foundation.
