San Francisco Art Book Fair 2019

The 2019 San Francisco Art Book Fair (SFABF) is an annual multi-day festival of artists' publications. This event is free and open to the public and will feature artists’ books, art catalogs, monographs, periodicals, zines, printed ephemera, and artists' multiples. These works will be presented by over The fair is organized by Colpa Press, Minnesota Street Project and Park Life with the mission to further cultivate the unique art publishing community within the Bay Area while providing a platform for national and international publishers to exhibit their work to new audiences. The weekend will be complemented by robust programming, outdoor activities, unique SFABF artist editions available for sale, and appearances by the much-loved SFABF mascot, Booky.

Throughout the weekend, refreshment options available on-site will include food from El Tonayense and an elote and fruit cart on Tennessee Street, pastries and coffee from Tartine Bakery on Minnesota Street, and sweet treats from izzyA’s Frozen Custard truck in the parking lot of 1150 25th Street. All this in addition to Besharam, the in- house restaurant located on the ground floor of Minnesota Street Project.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMING + EVENTS

The SFABF will feature a diverse range of talks, discussions, book launches, on and off-site special projects, exhibitions and book signings curated by David Senior, Chief of Library and Archives at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA).
Additional programming coordinated by the McEvoy Foundation for the Arts (MFA), in association with its exhibition What is an edition, anyway?, will be held at 1150 25th Street, including events with Ala Ebtekar, Bonanza, and Stephanie Syjuco.
