Salsa for All Bodies, March Madness

SEE EVENT DETAILS
All genders, all bodies, all orientations, all ages welcome. This class is for anyone who wants to learn sexy and casual nightclub style, but might not feel comfortable in a standard class. No partner required!
This is street/nightclub (as opposed to ballroom), LA style salsa, on the 1. (If you don't know what that means, that's ok!)
SCHEDULE:
The first hour is Level 1, a beginner class, ideal for first timers and anyone who wants to work on the basics.
The second hour is Level 2, is a mixed-level class, recommended for beginners who already know LA style basics, as well as intermediate dancers.
Optional open dancing after class: anyone who would like to stay and free dance after class is very welcome, and your friends who already know how to salsa are welcome to join us at this time too. Collected on site, $10-20 sliding scale: cash, Venmo, or PayPal accepted
CLASS WILL COVER:
--Footwork: the basic step, side basic, and cross basic. Simple "shines" or solo footwork. Level 2, basic steps at faster speeds, how to improvise with a partner, and how to create your own shines.
--Turns: front basic, back basic, L and R side basic. L and R basic for cross step. Level 2: basic turns at faster speeds, Double turns, linked turns, spotting, and more.
--Arms, hips, and body position, for leaders and followers, for all of the above moves. For Level 2: Faster speeds, better posture, more complicated hip patterns, the next level of leading and following.
--Rhythm: how to find the dance beat, how to tell the speed of a song, how to recover the beat when you lose it. For Level 2: the same plus how to dance in the slow openings of songs, how to dance in a song freeze or break, and more.
PLUS your requests!!! I always take requests and I always want to make sure you get the most from class. Please let me know if there is anything specific you want to learn.
Recommended attire is smooth soled shoes, and comfortable (but not too baggy) clothes. This style of salsa is extremely popular here in the Bay Area and serves as the best building block if you wish to learn other styles moving forward.
